Swirl it right with a Metallic Epoxy Floor coating
It all started with wanting something that was different. Joel was a young entrepreneur when he wanted to launch out his concreting business and start doing epoxy floor coatings to get concrete floors looking better.
Knowing the tricks of the concreting trade,
and intense training on applying epoxy floor coatings, concrete surface preparation, equipment and materials he was away! A specialist in everything he does it’s all about perfection to how the client wants it which is how this grey and black swirled Metallic epoxy floor came about.
Applied over this 30m2 floor area the client was wanting it to be the floor of a ‘work from home’ Hairdressing Salon in the busy hub of Brisbane.
Preparation – do it once, do it right.
With the use of the Schwamborn DSM250 Single phase Concrete Floor Grinder this floor quickly turned into a concrete masterpiece. Grinding back the high spots, removing markings and paint from the concrete, cleaning out and chasing the joints / crack repair and a good clean meant the floor was ready for its initial prime and coat.
It’s important to remember when preparing a concrete floor to consider everything about the finished product. Carefully read your Safety data and Spec sheets and ensure you are working with the right PPE Personal protective equipment that is required.
Correct surface preparation is the key to ensuring the longest possible life and performance on your floor. Do it once. Do it right.
What is Metallic Epoxy Floor Coating?
Metallic epoxy coatings are a three dimensional look and brushed, swirled or splattered effect makes it a one of a kind floor with practically no two floors coming out the same. A shiny surface and top coat gives a mirrored effect on these type of epoxy floors and enhances the look of any floor area. A massive demand for these has been in the residential market with home owners wanting to tidy up their garage space, a living area or bedroom to create that ‘point of difference’ they’ve always wanted.
Besides looking amazing, Epoxy Coating – Metallic floors are known for their stand out durability and suitable to heavy use or traffic. For example car garages, workshops and patios where equipment or tooling may be stored. The process of epoxy floor coatings installation is very quick. Once the concrete floor is prepared right with a mechanical concrete floor grinder, and all the dirt, maintenance or existing coating is been removed from the surface it’s an easy profess to get the coating on the floor.
Metallic Epoxy Floor coatings are a step above the rest when it comes to coloring and options of the finish on your floor. Getting the impressive dimensional finish and eye-catching swirl or textured effect means you can have the floor how you like it.
Similar coatings can be seen on floors including Baskin Robbins or RM Williams where the textured look is like sand dunes.
