Surface protection makes tough jobs easy at Eagle Street
Six stories up, it’s all hands on deck! Tradesmen, floor layers, tilers, carpenters, painters, plasters, electricians and many other trades working hard to completely refit a new floor at 175 Eagle Street.
Site Supervisor Mark is managing the project to ensure all goes according to plan, with an expected completion date of Anzac Day, April 25th 2015.
As a new tenancy leases each floor, where required, a complete refurbishment begins to customise the office floor to reflect the new tenant’s brand, office, and desk requirements. That’s why it’s essential to complete every office fit out and construction perfectly, on time.
Temporary surface protection prevents damage to floor coverings
As you step outside the lifts a pad of sticky mat entrance sheeting captures each tradie’s dirty footprint to minimise the mess on site. As needed, each layer is then peeled off, removing the dirty sheet and providing a clean, fresh sticky mat to welcome more dirty foot prints.
Under the sticky mat protection lies 3mm thick MDF board as impact protection over the tiles at the entrance to the floor.
Once new carpet is laid, self-adhesive film is applied around the perimeter of the room, followed by 1.8m Polyweave woven plastic for the main part of the floor. This comprehensive surface protection is then joined together with black cloth tape to ensure it holds strong while tradies and tools move across the floor.
There’s no room for mistakes in any construction, refurbishment, make good or remodelling project. That’s why All Preparation Equipment was called on to ensure no damage is made to the floor before handover. With ladders, planks, insulation, tool boxes, paint tins, and tools moving across the floor, it’s essential that not a drop lands on the newly installed floor coverings.
